About Us at Shillingford Bridge Hotel

Welcome to Shillingford Bridge Hotel, where you can discover all about us and our upcoming plans! Built in the 16th century, our hotel was once a Georgian Coaching Inn. Nestled among vast woodlands and far-reaching countryside, we are located between Oxford and Henley, offering beautiful views over a quiet part of the River Thames.

Featuring 40 comfortable bedrooms, each with unique personal touches, our hotel is the perfect riverside retreat. To learn more about us and our plans, scroll down!

We are currently undergoing renovation. We have some very exciting plans we can’t wait to share with you. We want to make this exciting project the most sort after destination in Oxfordshire. Full of little surprises and escapism to entice your senses in every way. We will make sure it is a hotel that meets the needs of the incredible town of Wallingford. Where style will meet nature… For now take a look at where we started and what we have been up to!

Shillingford Bridge Hotel, (previously named the Swan Inn) was built around 1608.

2016

Art Hotels UK a privately run company with heaps of experience in hospitality, purchase Shillingford Bridge Hotel. We started by getting right down to business, creating renovation plans, getting interior designers in and some other touch ups, such as updating our brand/identity, and giving the whole exterior of the building a fresh coat of paint etc.

2018

Renovation begins at the hotel. We started in stages. Our first stage is to renovate all our bedrooms in the hotel. Due to the setbacks from COVID-19, our renovation plans have gone slower than we would have liked... We plan to finish our bedrooms in 2023!

The Future

What does the future hold? A full renovation plan is on the way. From updating our Pub & Restaurant, to a new Events/Wedding venue. We also have plans for a new outside River-front restaurant and Eco-lodges. Let's not forget about the opening of the swimming pool! With work already started on this beautiful riverside property, please bear with us whilst work is steadily in progress to make sure we deliver more than just a hotel. Some people look for beautiful places others make a place beautiful.
